SALTY'S SEA SIDE TRIP #4
Santa Barbara visit 1986

サンタバーバラ詣1986
1986.
It was 40 years ago now.
I once stayed in Los Angeles for three weeks with nothing to do.
One day during my stay, I rented a car and drove to Santa Barbara with a photographer I met on the plane.
We didn't have any business in Santa Barbara.
Nor did I have any business in Santa Barbara, nor was I familiar with the city.
But I wanted to visit there at least once during my stay in Los Angeles.
Because it was the town where my beloved Mr. Michael McDonald lived. LOL!
Meeha, right? Laughs.
Well, nowadays, it's like part of a pilgrimage to a holy place for fans.
A town with nothing.
It was a quiet, peaceful, and beautiful town, not a hint of the image of a nice West Coast town overflowing with music.
During my stay in L.A., the only women I saw were plump and heavy-set, but I was very impressed to see a beautiful, shapely, and neat woman walking in front of the Old Mission Santa Barbara Church, which was the only place I visited during my stay in Santa Barbara. LOL!
On the way to Route 101, I saw a man touring on a bicycle, and when I pointed my camera at him, he said, "Are you going to take a picture of me?
I pointed my camera at him and said, "Are you going to take a picture of me?
“May I?”
"Ha ha ha. I don't mind at all."
This is the picture I took after that conversation.
I'm sure the town has changed in some ways.
But even so, the city and its people still leave a deep impression in my mind.
I still have a deep impression of the town and its people.
A town I will probably never visit again.
And that's OK.
I hope that the town will remain as the phantom town that I like so much.
